From Broke Landscaper to Real Estate Mogul...
Like so many hard-working Americans, I started my journey with no money, no time, and no experience. What I did have, was an unshakable desire to create the fulfilling life my family deserved. And, to not give up until I found it, no matter how many things I tried and failed.
22 years ago, I was a burnt-out landscaper with just $800 to my name. I was working tirelessly day in and day out, trapped in a cycle that offered little reward beyond exhaustion and a fleeting paycheck. After a full day of grunting dirt and railroad ties around in my landscaping business, I’d collapse with a cool one at the end of the day in front of the TV, preparing to do it all again tomorrow.
Real estate wasn’t in my family’s lexicon. I didn’t know anyone in the business. People told me I was making a big mistake. But I knew that this life wasn’t it for me. The 9-5 grind wasn’t my destiny. There was more – and it was up to me to create it.

And it All Began With Just One Deal.
I cobbled together my first deal. Then another. Then another. Eventually, I grew a portfolio with more than 8,200 apartment units. No luck was involved – instead, I tried and tested systems over time (with plenty of mistakes along the way). At first, these systems were crude, but I hate making the same mistake twice, so I got better fast.
I honed my approach, and today, those early lessons form the bedrock of my success in real estate. The systems I developed enabled me to escape my soul- destroying job, and find a fulfilling life, with the financial security to choose how I spent my time.
