Before finding success in real estate, our founder Dave Lindahl was a struggling landscaper. This period laid the groundwork for his tenacious entrepreneurial spirit! Like many of us, he started with humble beginnings, proving that perseverance and hard work can turn dreams into reality.
Dave took his first step into the world of real estate by using every last penny he had to buy an apartment building in Brockton, MA. This initial investment set the foundation for what would become a prolific career in real estate investing, illustrating that the first step is often the hardest but most crucial.
To support his growing passion for multi-family properties, Dave began flipping houses. He famously stated, “I was addicted to multi-family properties, and flipping houses was supporting my habit.” Dave soon developed a system for his success, executing the same strategies every time he’d invest in real estate-and as a result, he was able to continue pursuing his dream with confidence.
Dave quickly realized that his system was special-and that there was nothing else like it out there. He’d seen first-hand just how life-changing it could be to have these multi-family real estate strategies to lean on, and wanted to share that with others. So, he officially founded RE Mentor, and marked a new chapter in real estate education and investment. This pivotal moment was the beginning of a company dedicated to helping others achieve financial freedom through real estate.
Dave made significant strides by acquiring a landmark 400-unit multi- family property in Huntsville, Alabama-his biggest investment to date! Additionally, he established the headquarters for RE Mentor in Rockland, MA. These acquisitions highlighted his strategic growth and vision for where his dream could go.
This year saw the launch of Wealth Builders, now known as Mentorship, a coaching program that has guided thousands in multi-family investment. The first coaching session was hosted at the new headquarters, fostering a community of aspiring real estate investors eager to learn and grow.
In October, Dave published “Emerging Real Estate Markets: How to Find and Profit from Up-and-Coming Areas,” which quickly became a bestseller. This book provided invaluable insights, helping investors identify lucrative opportunities in emerging markets. Readers were able to take the strategies he taught for themselves, and learn them through the pages of the book. So many readers reached out to say how inspired they were by Dave’s story, and how impactful this book had been on their journey.
Dave’s second bestseller, “Multi-Family Millions: How Anyone Can Reposition Apartments for Big Profits,” was published. It offered expert advice for investors who wanted to transition from single-family homes to more profitable multi-family units. He’d help readers find troubled properties that are ripe for quick profits, teach them to flip or fix those properties, and resell at maximum value. The best part about this system he’d penned, was that readers could complete these strategies and start reaping the rewards even while they worked their day job.
Dave co-authored “The Six-Figure Second Income” with Jon Rozek, exploring opportunities in online business without quitting your day job. This book broadened his influence, appealing to those looking to diversify their income streams.
Real Estate Investing: A Complete Guide to Making Money in Real Estate in Your Home Town” was published, providing localized investment strategies. This book helped investors understand the potential within their local markets, empowering them to make informed decisions. Dave clearly loved sharing his expertise through his books, and it was so rewarding to see the response from everyday people realizing their dream and bringing it to life.

The launch of the Real Insights podcast provided a new platform for sharing valuable real estate knowledge and insights. This initiative further expanded REMentor’s reach, offering listeners practical advice and inspiring success stories.
“Ten Paths” was published, adding to Dave’s repertoire of influential real estateliterature. This book continued to offer readers actionable strategies for achievingfinancial success through real estate.
By 2023, over 300,000 clients had
received some form of investing education from REMentor, with materials translated into eight different languages.
The establishment of a private Facebook community with over 2,000 elite multi-family students fostered an
online network of learning and
support, illustrating our company’s
commitment to community and continuous education. Over nearly two
decades, we’ve closed over 43 syndications and more than $500
million in real estate transactions.
